ISIS India head, Saquib Nachan dies in Delhi hospital after brain haemorrhage
Indian shooters Divyansh Singh Panwar, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, and Rudrankksh Patil etched their names in history as they secured a remarkable gold medal in the men's 10m Air Rifle team event at the Asian Games 2023. In a display of exceptional precision and composure, the trio achieved an astonishing overall point tally of 1893.7, smashing China's previous world record of 1893.3 points set earlier in the year at the World Championships in Baku. This victory marked India's first gold medal at the Asian Games 2023.
Rudrankksh Patil (632.5) secured the third spot, while Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar (631.6) claimed the fifth position in the qualification round, thereby qualifying for the men's 10m air rifle individual final. However, due to regulations allowing only two shooters from the same country in the individual final, Divyansh Singh Panwar, who secured the final spot, did not advance. Rudrankksh and Aishwary, with their higher rankings, competed in the individual final.
India's triumphant trio, consisting of world champion Rudrankksh, Olympian Divyansh, and Aishwary, aggregated a sensational 1893.7 points in the qualification round, surpassing the world record of 1893.3 set by the Chinese less than a month ago. South Korea secured the silver medal with an aggregate of 1890.1 points, while China clinched the bronze with a score of 1888.2.
This victory added to India's tally of medals, marking their third medal in shooting at the 19th Asian Games and contributing to their overall count of seven medals, including one gold, three silver, and three bronze.
