CM Mamata to visit Darjeeling ahead of bypolls, key GTA meeting on cards
Kangana Ranaut, known for her outspokenness, has made a donation of Rs 5 lakh to the Himachal CM's Relief Fund in response to the heavy monsoon rains and flooding in Himachal Pradesh. She expressed her intention to contribute more but faced technical issues while attempting an online donation.
Kangana used Facebook to share her frustration with the state government's 'aapda kosh' (disaster relief fund) portal, stating that despite numerous attempts, her team could only donate a portion of the intended amount. She also posted a conversation with her CA, revealing that they encountered a problem with the portal, resulting in a Rs 5 lakh donation instead of the intended Rs 10 lakh.
Kangana Ranaut's donation comes after Bollywood actor Aamir Khan contributed Rs 25 lakh to the Himachal CM's Relief Fund for flood-affected people in the state. This move by Aamir Khan prompted questions from the public about the absence of other Himachal Connected Bollywood stars, including Kangana Ranaut, Anupam Kher, and Yami Gautam, in providing assistance.
Additionally, former CM Shanta Kumar had written a letter to Kangana Ranaut, appealing for her help in the flood relief efforts. Kangana, originally from Bhambla in Mandi district, has a residence in Kullu and has maintained her connection with Himachal Pradesh.
