Shahid Latif, mastermind of  Pathankot terror attack Killed? Death reports circulates on X

Shahid Latif, a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist and the mastermind behind the 2016 Pathankot terror attack, was assassinated in Sialkot, Pakistan. Latif was on the wanted list of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with a UAPA case. Latif was shot dead in a mosque on the outskirts of Sialkot, Pakistan, by unidentified assailants. After the attack, the attackers swiftly fled the scene on a motorcycle. Local police responded by cordoning off the area.The news of Shahid Latif's assassination came to light on Wednesday, marking a mysterious turn of events in Pakistan.The assassination took place in Sialkot, Pakistan, within the premises of a mosque.

 Shahid Latif had masterminded the 2016 Pathankot terror attack, orchestrating the infiltration of four JeM terrorists into India. He was a prominent member of the terrorist organization JeM and had a history of terrorist activities. Latif was on the radar of Indian authorities and was previously arrested in India in November 1994 under the Prevention of Unlawful Activities Act (UAPA). After serving his sentence, he was deported to Pakistan in 2010. Latif's attackers carried out the assassination in a mosque, and then swiftly escaped on a motorcycle, leaving local authorities to respond to the incident.

This assassination comes shortly after another prominent terrorist, Qaiser Farooq, a founding member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) organization, was also killed by unknown assailants in Karachi. The assailants shot him from behind as he was on his way home from a mosque, leading to his tragic demise. Qaiser Farooq was known to be closely associated with the mastermind of the 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai and LeT chief, further highlighting the complexity of the security situation in the region.
