The Raj Bhavan recently announced the winners of the inaugural 'Durga Ratna' award for exemplary Durga Puja committees in Kolkata and districts. Tala Pratya, Netaji Colony Low-Land, Baranagar Bandhudal Sporting, and Kalyani Luminous Club emerged as the recipients.
Governor CV Anand Bose initiated the award this year, with a total of Rs 5 lakh and certificates to be distributed among the four selected puja committees. The Raj Bhavan selected the winners based on public feedback and opinions submitted via email.
Amid the Durga Puja celebrations, the Governor actively visited various pandals, signaling the significance of the 'Durgaratna' award in recognizing exceptional puja committees.
