The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has assumed control of the state-run SSKM Medical College and Hospital in a significant development linked to the ongoing investigation into the crores of rupees school recruitment scam in West Bengal. A letter has been dispatched to the Medical College and Hospital, requesting the establishment of suitable arrangements for conducting a voice sample test of Sujay Krishna Bhadra, the primary accused in the case.

Bhadra, who has been under medical care at the hospital for the past two months following a bypass surgery in August, is central to the investigation. Recently, the ED secured permission from a special court under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act to carry out the voice sample test, with the court emphasizing Bhadra's cooperation with the ED officials.

In compliance with the standard procedures, the voice sample test necessitates a soundproof glass room and must be overseen by a forensic expert. ED officials have made formal requests to the hospital for these arrangements. Furthermore, sources indicate that Bhadra's latest medical report has been acquired from the hospital, and consultations with doctors from a central hospital's medical team have confirmed his fitness for the required medical tests, marking a crucial step in the ongoing investigation.
