Unknown assailants target worshippers in Balitikuri area, raising concerns of local political influence. In a disturbing incident that occurred late Wednesday night in the Dasnagar police station area of Howrah, individuals returning home after immersing Durga idols during the Durga Puja festival were violently attacked.
It is alleged that the attack took place in the Balitikuri area, leaving several people seriously injured. One of the victims sustained severe injuries and has been admitted to Howrah Hospital for medical attention.
The police responded to the incident, using force to control the situation and recovering the cricket sticks and bats used in the attack. The incident has raised concerns of political influence over law enforcement, with allegations that the attackers are closely linked to a Trinamool leader in the Shibpur assembly constituency.
