TMC pushes for renaming West Bengal to 'Bangla' during Zero Hour in Parliament
In response to heightened diplomatic tensions between India and Canada, visa services have partially resumed, as reported by the High Commission of India in Ottawa. This development, effective October 25, marks a significant change since the suspension of visa issuance on September 21.
Services have been restored for entry, business, medical, and conference visas, following a comprehensive review of the security situation and consideration of recent Canadian measures. However, certain visa categories, including tourist, employment, student, film, missionary, and journalist visas, remain suspended.
The rift in diplomatic relations began after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's statement in the House of Commons on September 18, alleging "credible allegations" of a potential link between Indian agents and the killing of pro-Khalistan figure Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
