In preparation for the high-stakes ICC World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel conducted a comprehensive meeting in Gandhinagar on Friday. The meeting aimed to oversee security measures and logistical arrangements for the much-anticipated cricket match scheduled to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera.
The official release disclosed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles are slated to attend the final on Sunday, underlining the global significance of the event.
The release outlined the meticulous security arrangements discussed during the meeting, with Chief Minister Patel directing officials to ensure minimal disruption for the public during VIP movements. The release also highlighted the deployment of 4,500 personnel to manage security for the ground, teams, VIPs, and traffic control.
Additionally, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of providing advance information about road closures and diversions to the public. In a bid to accommodate the influx of fans from across the country and abroad, Patel instructed officials to enhance the frequency of metro trains to Motera station near the stadium. As part of the pre-match festivities, the Indian Air Force's renowned Surya Kiran aerobatics team is scheduled to perform an air show ahead of the much-anticipated final on Sunday.
