In a chilling discovery, a woman's lifeless body was found concealed inside a drum in the bathroom of a house in the Jagatpur Bazar area of Baguiati last Tuesday. Bidhannagar Commissionerate Police has been investigating the incident.
In the course of investigation, the police has arrested a person named Amit Damai from Navi Mumbai in connection with the case. The accused was brought to Kolkata on transit remand on Friday.
According to police sources, Amit was in contact with the people who rented the house of Dr. Gopal Mukherjee, where the dead body was found. The police traced him using the phone records of Dr. Gopal Mukherjee, after which Amit was arrested and brought to Kolkata for questioning.
