In the early hours of Tuesday, a massive fire broke out in a plastic factory cum warehouse in Industrial Ghusuri in Howrah, causing damage to a section of a nearby jute mill. The incident resulted in a substantial cloud of smoke blanketing the sky. Swift response from the police and fire department involved two firefighting vehicles that managed to bring the fire under control after extensive efforts.
The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire and determining whether it originated in the warehouse or the plastic factory. No casualties has been reported.
This incident follows a similar occurrence on Monday, where a segment of the Vijayashree Jute Mill on Foreshore Road in Howrah's industrial area was destroyed by fire. The recent fire incidents in the region have raised concerns about industrial safety.
