In a positive development, MP Vijay Hansda, Littipara MLA Dinesh William Marandi, and DC Mrityunjay Kumar Baranwal visited the Pachuwada North Coal Block in Pakur on Saturday, bringing relief to displaced and affected villagers in Chilgo village.
The officials engaged in direct interaction with the villagers, addressing their concerns and initiating measures for their welfare. The visit resulted in significant outcomes, including the provision of housing benefits and compensation for those who did not opt for housing.
During the dialogue program, GM of WPDCL, Rajmahal MP Vijay Hansda, and MLA Dinesh William Marandi provided information about the resettlement of 131 families from Vishunpur village and outlined plans for the SIA survey of 177 families from Chilgo village.
Notably, 118 families have consented to settle at the new location, while the remaining 59 families have opted for compensation instead of housing. The officials assured Rs 3 lakh for subsistence for each family and addressed concerns raised by villagers, emphasizing the resolution of issues related to the SIA survey report.
