Trinamool Chhatra Parishad shows black flag to Governor during entry into Burdwan University

The Burdwan University campus witnessed heightened tension on Friday as members of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad staged a demonstration, displaying black flags during the entry of the Governor. The incident has sparked controversy, and the atmosphere within the university turned tense, prompting a deployment of police forces to maintain order.

Since early morning, the Golapbagh campus of Burdwan University saw a significant police presence in anticipation of the Governor's visit. Barricades were strategically placed to prevent any potential escalation. At the main gate of the university, members of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad, alongside other students, gathered on the roadside with black flags and placards in hand. As the Governor approached, they marched with the chant "Governor go away," creating a charged atmosphere in the campus.

The student organization demanded the immediate appointment of a permanent vice-chancellor for the university. They also questioned the cessation of UGC grants to educational institutions and accused the Governor of undue interference in the university's internal affairs.
