In a recent development, the Lake Town police station has successfully apprehended an individual, identified as Chiranjeet Dhawade, involved in the theft of a gold bracelet during the renovation of a flat in Bangur Avenue.
The arrest came following a complaint filed by Sandeep Barua, a resident of Bangur Avenue, who reported the theft of a gold bracelet and 500 rupees from an almirah in his house during ongoing renovation work.
Upon investigation, the police, after interrogating Chiranjeet and his associate, confirmed Chiranjeet as the perpetrator of the theft. The accused confessed to the crime during questioning, leading to the recovery of the stolen gold bracelet and the missing money from Chiranjeet's village in Bangaon.
The police are actively probing the motive behind the incident, while the recovered gold jewelry has been returned to the rightful owner, Sandeep Barua.
