Case should be registered against Nitish Kumar over alcohol related deaths: Giriraj Singh

Union Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Giriraj Singh has reignited the debate on the liquor ban in Bihar, raising serious concerns about the continuous deaths associated with the policy. Singh has called for legal action against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, attributing the deaths to what he describes as Nitish Kumar's stubbornness and flawed liquor prohibition policies.

Singh alleges that thousands of individuals have been incarcerated due to the Chief Minister's rigid stance on the liquor ban, resulting in innocent lives lost to violence orchestrated by the liquor mafia.

Giriraj Singh has said that today the adverse effect of the same is that ASI Khamas Choudhary, deputed in Naokothi police station area of Begusarai, was crushed to death by the liquor mafia in Chhatauna. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is responsible for this.

Singh emphasizes that the adverse effects of the liquor ban have manifested in tragic incidents, and he holds Nitish Kumar accountable. He calls for a reevaluation of the liquor ban, urging Nitish Kumar to abandon his obstinacy and convene an all-party meeting for a comprehensive discussion on the issue.
