Central Government launches Lakhpati Kisan Didi scheme for women farmers' empowerment

  • Scheme targets women farmers affiliated with Sakhi Mandals, aiming to uplift their annual income to at least Rs 1 lakh through various livelihood activities
  • Initiative has entered its training phase, selecting women with current incomes of Rs 70-80 thousand for the first phase, with plans to extend to others in subsequent stages
  • Jharkhand Livelihood Mission plans to establish Gender Resource Centers at the block level to address gender issues, provide legal and psychological counseling, and support women affected by violence

Central Government launches Lakhpati Kisan Didi scheme for women farmers' empowerment

The Central Government's initiative, Lakhpati Kisan Didi Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana, under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, aims to empower women farmers by connecting them with various livelihood activities.

The scheme targets to elevate the annual income of around 30,000 rural women associated with Sakhi Mandals to a minimum of Rs 1 lakh. The training phase has commenced, focusing on activities like agriculture, animal husbandry, and non-agricultural works to boost income and enhance self-reliance.
