A young student's dead body has been recovered from the Khana Beria canal. The victim, identified as Biswajit Mondal age 19, had come to visit relatives in Sukant Nagar and went missing after an evening visit to the Sheetala Puja fair. Three days later, his dead body was discovered in the canal. As per police reports, the victim has multiple injuries on his body.
The family asserts that Biswajit and his friends got involved in a heated altercation with a group of individuals affiliated with the local club during their visit to the fair. Subsequently, they claim to have been forcibly taken to the club premises, where they were subjected to a brutal assault and Biswajit was beaten to death.
Currently, the Pragati Maidan police station is actively investigating the incident, and Mondal's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
