29 injured in speeding buses collision in Beliaghata

Two buses collided head-on near Rani Rasmani Bazar in Beliaghata around 3:30 pm, involving a private bus on route 44/1 and a government bus en route from Sealdah to Dhamakhali. The collision resulted in the complete wreckage of the front parts of both buses. Approximately 50 passengers, including the drivers, sustained minor injuries, with 29 individuals rushed to NRS Hospital.

The injured comprised women and children, and eyewitnesses reported that both buses were traveling at higher-than-normal speeds due to the relatively empty road. The government bus lost control near Rani Rasmani Bazar, colliding with the oncoming bus. Local residents were the first ones to respond to the situation and informed the police.
