A male passenger aboard a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru experienced an unusual and distressing situation as he found himself trapped inside the lavatory for almost the entire duration of the journey on Tuesday. The ordeal, lasting around an hour, unfolded when the lavatory door malfunctioned mid-air, leaving the passenger confined.
SpiceJet's cabin crew provided assistance and guidance to the passenger throughout the flight, and upon the aircraft's arrival in Bengaluru, an engineer promptly addressed the malfunctioning door, successfully opening it. Medical professionals attended to the passenger immediately to assess his well-being.
The incident occurred on flight SG-268, which departed from Mumbai airport at 2 am. The passenger reportedly entered the lavatory shortly after the seatbelt signs were turned off. To reassure the trapped flyer, one of the air hostesses slid a note, explaining the situation and advising the passenger to secure himself by sitting on the commode lid until the door could be opened upon landing.
