The Supreme Court has taken charge of the case regarding fake certificates in West Bengal, transferring it from the Calcutta High Court to itself. The move comes amid demands for a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the issuance of caste certificates to candidates vying for reserved category seats. Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud led a five-judge Constitution bench in making this decision. The court ordered all parties involved to conclude their arguments within three weeks, streamlining the legal proceedings.
