Lalu Prasad appears before ED in Patna office for interrogation

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav arrived at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Patna on Monday morning for questioning regarding the land-for-job case. The ED had previously issued summons to Lalu Prasad on January 19, and his appearance follows after missing earlier dates. Accompanied by his elder daughter and Rajya Sabha MP Misa Bharti, Lalu reached the ED office at around 11 am, drawing a crowd of RJD supporters.

Lalu's daughter, Misa Bharti, criticized the ED summons, alleging that it is a recurring tactic by the BJP-led central government to target opposition figures. She stated, “Whenever they (central government) want, they send us a summon. Now, not just our family, but they are also sending summons to all those who are in opposition.”

The ED had visited Rabri Devi’s official residence earlier to deliver a fresh summons to former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav and Lalu Prasad, instructing them to appear on January 29. The summons was personally served to them at their residence for questioning at the Patna ED office.
