Jharkhand CM files FIR against ED under SC/ST Act

ED has started questioning CM Hemant Soren's team. extensive security arrangements have been made around the Chief Minister's residence. section 144 has been imposed at a distance of 100 meters. Meanwhile, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha activists are staging protests against central government and ED actions. As per recent reports, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has filed an FIR against ED under SC/ST Act.

The ED team entered CM Hemant Soren's house complex at 1.18 pm and started questioning around 3 pm. The entourage consisted of nine vehicles, six of them CRPF personnel. A CRPF officer was escorted inside the CM house by special branch personnel of Jharkhand Police.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha activists from various districts have united at the historic Morhabadi Maidan in Ranchi and their anger is being expressed directly. The JMM activists say that they are trying to defame the tribal chief minister's face in Jharkhand. The JMM also questioned the purpose of the visit of ED officials to Soren’s official residence in Delhi on Monday, when he was scheduled to face questioning by the central agency on January 31.

Jharkhand’s ruling JMM earlier on Tuesday also said that it will file a case against state BJP chief Babulal Marandi for allegedly defaming Chief Minister Hemant Soren by his comment on the JMM leader's "absence" in the state capital Ranchi.

JMM spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said a similar case will also be filed against a BJP MP who "tweets frequently", apparently indicating Nishikant Dubey.
