India beats Bangladesh by 7 wickets in first T20, chase down total in 11.5 overs
In a dramatic turn of events, RJD MLA Chetan Anand, son of former MP Anand Mohan, was taken away by the Patna police from the residence of senior RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. The move followed a complaint lodged by Chetan's brother, Ayushman Anand, at Patliputra police station, alleging that Chetan had been missing since Saturday.
The incident unfolded ahead of the crucial floor test for the newly formed NDA government in Bihar. The police team, led by Patna SSP Rajeev Mishra, reached Tejashwi's residence at 5, Deshratna Marg around 2 am on Monday, taking Chetan into custody. RJD and left party MLAs had been staying at Tejashwi's residence, anticipating poaching attempts by the NDA.
Simultaneously, Bihar witnessed heightened security measures across the state to prevent potential clashes between workers and leaders of rival parties during or after the floor test. In the state capital, increased police presence was evident outside the assembly and the offices of various political parties, including BJP, JD(U), and RJD. Security was also ramped up outside Tejashwi's residence.
RJD's chief spokesperson, Shakti Yadav, described the police action as unprecedented, criticizing the deployment outside Tejashwi's residence during the party's legislators' stay and meeting. He sarcastically remarked on the situation, saying, "If BJP holds a meeting, it is 'rasleela,' and if RJD holds a meeting with its MLAs, it is called 'character dheela.'"
