A sudden flash disrupted the smooth operation of the Blue Line metro between Park Street and Esplanade stations on the DN line at 10:15 am, causing widespread confusion among commuters during the bustling office hours on Tuesday. Truncated services are now being run between Maidan to Kavi Subhash and Girish Park to Dakshineswar stretch. Passengers encountered significant delays, with reports indicating that the metro stood stationary at Girish Park station for about 20 minutes.
Authorities have reported that motormen observed a light bulb flashing on the down line between Esplanade and Park Street stations, prompting an immediate investigation into the cause of the incident. As of now, it remains uncertain whether the flash was due to a fault in the down line or other technical issues.
