Former Trinamool Congress (TMC) Tripura unit president Piyush Kanti Biswas rejoined the Congress on Tuesday, marking his return to the party where he previously served as the President of Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee. Biswas's re-entry into Congress was welcomed by Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee President Ashish Kumar Saha in the presence of Congress Tripura in-charge Girish Chodankar at the party headquarters.
Biswas expressed his happiness at rejoining Congress and highlighted his support for Rahul Gandhi's leadership, citing the 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' initiative in the North-East. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's alleged neglect of the North-Eastern states and urged others to rally behind Rahul Gandhi in the fight against the ruling government.
