A concerning situation unfolded outside Kolkata's Alipore Zoo as hawkers took control of the free drinking water tank, subsequently locking it to boost sales of water bottles. The issue gained prominence after Taaza TV highlighted it, prompting swift action within 24 hours.

In response to our media coverage, hawkers removed their carts and cartons from the tanker area and unlocked its gate. However, challenges persist as the drinking water machine and taps are broken. Authorities are anticipated to address this issue promptly to restore free water access to the public.
