70% of indelible ink production ready, rest by March 15, says sole supplier

Mysore Paints and Varnish Ltd(MPVL), the sole supplier of indelible ink, is ramping up its preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024. The Karnataka government undertaking, responsible for producing indelible ink exclusively for the Election Commission since 1962, has received its largest order to date for the crucial electoral process.

As per reports, MPVL has disclosed that 70% of the ink production required for the upcoming polls has already been completed. The remaining 30% is slated to be manufactured and ready for distribution by March 15, ensuring timely availability for the electoral process.

"The order we received from the EC for the 2024 general elections is the largest order so far. We have delivered most vials to the northeast and Jammu & Kashmir. We are now producing the ink for Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana," stated MPVL managing director K Mohammed Irfan, underlining the widespread distribution of the indelible ink.

MPVL is set to supply a staggering 26 lakh vials of indelible ink to various states across the country for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
