Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled the Indian Navy's new headquarters, Nausena Bhawan, at Delhi Cantt, marking the service's first independent headquarters in the capital. The inauguration consolidates the navy's operations, previously spread across 13 different locations in the National Capital Region. The new complex boasts a state-of-the-art three-tier security system, integrating advanced technologies like automatic vehicle underbelly scanning, power fences, face recognition cameras, bollards, and access control.
According to the Defence Ministry's statement, the architectural design of Nausena Bhawan was selected through a nationwide competition, emphasizing both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The building, comprising three wings across four levels, incorporates innovative construction technologies to enhance efficiency and sustainability, aligning with modern architectural standards.
