Coconut prices rise to ₹60 ahead of Chhath Puja as demand surges
Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik was admitted to Mumbai's City Hospital in Kurla after complaining of breathing difficulties on Saturday. Malik, currently on medical bail in connection with a money laundering case, was taken to the hospital earlier in the day, as confirmed by his daughter and party spokesperson to news agencies.
The Supreme Court recently extended Nawab Malik's interim medical bail by six months in an alleged money laundering case, citing his ongoing health issues related to chronic kidney ailments. The extension, granted on January 11 by a bench comprising Justices Bela M. Trivedi and Pankaj Mithal, followed a previous three-month extension and was deemed necessary due to Malik's health condition showing no signs of improvement. The Enforcement Directorate, representing the agency, had no objections to the extension during the court hearing, further underlining Malik's health concerns.
