Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee pulled no punches as she launched a scathing attack on the Central Government and BJP candidate Nishith Pramanik during her campaign in Cooch Behar. Taking the stage with fervor, Mamata questioned the BJP's choice, asking, "Could BJP not find any dynasty candidate from here?"
She further boasted that the Trinamool Congress's candidate from Cooch Behar is nothing less than a "piece of diamond". "Remember my face and give every vote to Trinamool," Mamata urged the crowd.
Referring to Nisith Pramanik, CM Mamata said, "When he was in TMC, he was a troublemaker. We threw him out of the party. For the BJP, now he has become a treasured candidate. He roams around being a goonda. He even wears a police cap," Banerjee said. "It is a matter of shame that the person against whom there are several cases has been appointed as MOS home affairs," she added.
"You can trust a poisonous snake, even pet it but you can never trust BJP, the BJP is destroying the country," she said.
The Cooch Behar Lok Sabha seat, recently marked by clashes between supporters of sitting BJP MP and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nisith Pramanik and TMC leader and Minister Udayan Guha, is now witnessing a showdown of prestige. PM Modi is also slated to rally in Cooch Behar today.
