A case of assault has emerged during the election campaign in Mohanpur village of Saraikela district, where BJP candidate Geeta Koda and her supporters were attacked. Geeta Koda reported that opposition supporters attempted to halt her campaign, and when they were unsuccessful, they surrounded her and her team with traditional weapons, resulting in physical assault.
Geeta Koda, the BJP candidate for Singhbhum seat, has asserted that this assault was part of a larger conspiracy to intimidate her during the election. She has called for a thorough investigation into the matter. Geeta Koda was on a scheduled campaign tour in Gamharia block on Sunday, where she engaged in election campaigning in the panchayat areas of Kandra and Gamharia with a considerable gathering of BJP supporters. Upon reaching Mohanpur village, opposition supporters reportedly obstructed Geeta Koda's entry into the village, leading to the altercation.
