CM Mamata to visit Darjeeling ahead of bypolls, key GTA meeting on cards
Sourav Ganguly, former BCCI boss, has posted a cryptic tweet about BCCI looking for their next head coach. The former cricketer opted for X and advised the apex cricket body in India to choose a coach wisely given the important role he plays in shaping a player's future.
The coach's significance in one's life, their guidance, and relentless training shape the future of any person, both on and off the field. So choose the coach and institution wisely…

With current head coach Rahul Dravid all set to fly out after the 2024 T20 World Cup in 2024, the BCCI is looking for his successor. While the likes of Justin Langer and Ricky Ponting distanced themselves from the role, BCCI secretary Jay Shah revealed that the pair were not approached for the role in the first round.
Instead, Gautam Gambhir emerged as the front-runner for the role. While Gambhir's stock has risen exponentially after Kolkata Knight Riders' victory in IPL 2024, the former opener has so far acted only as a mentor. Therefore, BCCI may be slightly skeptical in appointing him as coach.
Dravid has produced decent results ever since he replaced Ravi Shastri in the role after the T20 World Cup in 2021. However, the former India captain has yet to crack India's ICC trophy. The 2024 T20 World Cup will be his last opportunity.
