As voting concludes in the final phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Sudip Bandyopadhyay, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate and sitting MP from Kolkata Uttar, cast his vote and shared his predictions for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Competing against Congress candidate Pradip Bhattacharya and BJP's Tapas Roy, Bandyopadhyay stated, "BJP will remain near 200 seats. It will not reach double digits in Bengal." He emphasized his strong connection with his constituency, attributing his anticipated success to the support of the local people and the campaign efforts of TMC leader Mamata Banerjee.
Kolkata Uttar, comprising seven assembly segments including Chaurangi, Entally, Beleghata, Jorasanko, Shyampukur, Maniktala, and Cossipore-Belgachia, is witnessing intense competition as voting progresses in nine seats across West Bengal. Meanwhile, prominent figures like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ravi Shankar Prasad, and Kangana Ranaut are among the 904 candidates contesting in this crucial phase. The Election Commission has imposed a ban on exit polls until the conclusion of polling to ensure fair conduct.
