As of 1 PM today, the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections has recorded a 40% voter turnout across seven states and Chandigarh. Bihar reported the lowest participation with over 35% turnout, while Himachal Pradesh saw the highest at 48.6%.
In West Bengal, the overall voter turnout stands at 45.07%. Among its constituencies, Basirhat leads with a notable 50.89% turnout, followed closely by Jaynagar SC at 48.27% and Barasat at 47.49%. Mathurapur SC also saw a strong turnout of 47.03%.
Meanwhile, other key constituencies in West Bengal showed varied participation rates. Dum Dum recorded 41.09%, Jadavpur 43.25%, Kolkata South 39.70%, and Kolkata North 39.48%.
