TMC leads on Bhagabangola seat, close fight in Baranagar bye election

Amid the high voltage Lok Sabha election results, two seats of West Bengal Assembly went under bye elections. The votes of both the seats are also being counted.

 
In the Bhagabangola seat, Trinamool candidate Reyan Hossain Sarkar is leading by over 11,000 votes. Congress candidate Anju Begum is in second position while Bhaskar Sarkar of the BJP is trailing in 3rd position.
 
Meanwhile, on Baranagar seat, BJP's Sajal Ghosh and TMC's Sayantika Banerjee are giving close fight to each other.

In 2021, Tapas Roy of the All India Trinamool Congress won the seat by defeating Parno Maitra of the Bharatiya Janata Party with a margin of 35147 votes.
