West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has issued constitutional directives to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee following an incident where victims of post-election violence were reportedly prevented from meeting him at Raj Bhavan. An official confirmed that during the meeting at Maheswari Bhawan, the Governor interacted with about 150 individuals and noted their grievances.
Expressing dismay over the lack of government response, Anand Bose stated, "The incident of violence after the election is sad, and the state government must respond. Yesterday I wanted to meet the victims but I am surprised that I could not meet them I will ask the Chief Minister why no one was allowed to meet me. If the Governor allows someone to meet him then no one can stop him."
Governor's remarks comes amidst yesterday's incident where Subhendu Adhikari, accompanied by post-election violence victims, was halted by Kolkata Police near the Great Eastern Hotel for 20 minutes. Adhikari, despite possessing written permission, asserted that they were denied entry to Raj Bhavan.
