EC defends EVM reliability amid Musk's concerns

The Election Commission of India has firmly defended the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) following comments made by Elon Musk. Musk had recently raised questions about the integrity of electronic voting systems.

In a strong response, the Election Commission emphasized that India's voting system is robust and credible. They highlighted that EVMs have been used in elections for many years with consistent reliability and accuracy. The Commission assured the public that there are multiple layers of security and checks in place to ensure the integrity of the voting process.

The Commission also pointed out that numerous international observers and experts have validated the effectiveness and security of India's EVMs. They reiterated their commitment to maintaining transparency and trust in the electoral process, noting that EVMs are designed to be tamper-proof and have been subjected to rigorous testing.

Additionally, the Election Commission addressed concerns about the technology used in EVMs. They clarified that these machines do not rely on internet connectivity, which makes them immune to hacking attempts and cyber threats. The Commission also invited critics and stakeholders to participate in demonstrations and tests to see firsthand the reliability of the EVMs.
