Jailed Radical Sikh preacher of 'Waris Punjab De' Amritpal Singh will be flown to Delhi for his oath-taking ceremony on Friday. He will be flown in a special Indian Airforce plane from Assam's Dibrugarh.
Amritpal was elected as Lok Sabha MP from Punjab’s Khadoor Sahib constituency. Ahead of his swearing-in, the pro-Khalistan preacher was taken from Dibrugarh Central Jail to Mohanbari Airforce Airport.
Amritpal was taken out from the Dibrugarh Central Jail at 4 am today amid tight security of Assam Police and a team of Punjab Police. He will be escorted under special security arrangements by the Punjab Police.
The radical preacher had won the Khadoor Sahib parliamentary constituency with a margin of about 1.97 lakh votes in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections while lodged in the Dibrugarh jail in Assam under the National Security Act (NSA). His poll campaign was run by his family members as he was lodged in jail.
