Bidhannagar Mayor Krishna Chakraborty resigns, another massive blow to TMC
A 59-year-old man, Ravindran Nair, was rescued on Monday morning after being trapped inside a hospital lift for 48 hours in Thiruvananthapuram. The incident occurred at the OP Block of the government medical college when Nair, who had visited the hospital for a medical checkup, entered the lift on Saturday. The lift descended but did not open, leaving him stuck without a way to call for help as his phone was switched off.
According to police, the situation was discovered when the lift operator initiated routine maintenance on Monday morning. Nair had shouted for help during his ordeal, but no one heard him. His family had filed a missing person report on Sunday night, unaware of his predicament inside the hospital. Police are investigating the incident to determine how such a lapse could occur.
