Raj Bhavan is nominated but assembly is elected: CM Mamata

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee fiercely targeted the Raj Bhavan during the assembly session. She said that the Raj Bhavan is forgetting that the Raj Bhavan is nominated and the Assembly is elected. "Many times letters were written by the Speaker of the Assembly to administer oaths to the MLAs, but due to not getting adequate response, finally the MLAs of Bhagwangola and Baranagar were sworn in," the CM said.

On the other hand, today the newly elected MLAs of Maniktala, Ranaghat South, Raiganj, and Bagda have been sworn in. "I have seen that the Speaker of the Assembly Biman Banerjee has administered the oath to everyone under the Constitution while staying within the limits", added Mamata.

She said that this was the victory of the common people. "Thanks to all the voters. BJP cannot become the single largest party in the country. There was no alliance in Bengal but NDA got 46 percent and INDIA got 51 percent votes. What can be better than this?", she expressed.

She said that the Speaker of the Assembly has done a very good job. "Many thanks to him. Where there is a convention, there is also a constitution. I am always in agreement with the Speaker of the Assembly," the CM added.
