A man commits suicide by jumping in front of a metro train at Kolkata's Kalighat Metro station. The incident took place at 9:13 pm when suddenly the man leaped from the platform on the down line.
As per the authorities, the metro services came to a halt due to this on the down line. Meanwhile, trains were playing normally on the up line of the North-South corridor (blue line), said Kaushik Mitra, the Chief Public Relations Officer of the KMRC.
As this accident took place during the office return time, hundreds of passengers, who were headed toward the down line stations faced difficulty. Meanwhile, police is investigating the case.
