Minibus puffs heavy smoke at CR Avenue-MG Road crossing, passengers evacuated

On Thursday morning, during office hours, a minibus was spotted emitting heavy smoke in Kolkata. The smoke was detected in the Birati-BBD Bagh route minibus at around 8:30 am. The bus was at the Central Avenue and MG Road crossing.

As soon as the driver noticed the smoke, he immediately evacuated the bus. The fire department was informed after which one fire tender arrived at the spot. Fortunately, no one suffered injuries. However, the passengers were in panic mode as this could have been a disastrous accident.

Jorasanko police station is investigating the incident. The accident was initially thought to be due to a mechanical fault.
