2 arrested as Gujarat family held hostage in Bengal over ₹15 lakh ransom for fake passports
A tragic road accident occurred on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Firozabad district, Uttar Pradesh, last night. A sleeper bus collided with a parked truck in the Nagla Khangar police station area, resulting in the death of two people, including the bus driver, and injuries to over 80 passengers.
The accident happened around 1:00 AM when the bus, traveling from Bahraich to Agra, reached kilometer number 59 in the Nagla Khangar area. It collided with a loaded truck parked on the roadside. The impact was so severe that the sound of the collision was heard far away, causing panic among the passengers.
Rescue operations were promptly conducted by senior officials, UPDA employees, and local police. The injured were transported to Shikohabad Hospital and Medical College Saifai for treatment. The deceased have been identified as Ramdev and an unidentified person.
The injured include Sofia, Hansraj, Shahnaz Ali, Tahil, Sapna, Abida, Firoz, Umesh Goswami, Raja Babu, Riyaz, Ramu Singh, Anju, Jawaharlal, Arshad, Pappu, Shaiza, Ayna, Kishan Kumar, Mayaram, Suresh, Chand Babu, Anil, Abhishek, Santosh, Satyanarayan, Krishna Lal, Ayodhya Prasad, and Akash.
It is suspected that the accident occurred because the bus driver dozed off while driving. SP Rural Kunwar Ranvijay Singh confirmed that legal action is being taken in the matter.
