Robert Downey Jr returns to Marvel Studios as Doctor Doom

Hollywood actor Robert Downey Jr is set to return to Marvel Studios, but this time in a new and unexpected role. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige and Robert Downey Jr made the announcement together, revealing that Downey Jr will portray the iconic villain Doctor Doom.

Downey Jr, widely known for his portrayal of Iron Man in the MCU, surprised fans by appearing on stage at Hall H as the new face of the Fantastic Four's arch-nemesis, Doctor Doom. This casting decision has generated significant excitement and curiosity among fans, as it marks Downey Jr's transition from a beloved superhero to a complex and formidable villain.

Doctor Doom, also known as Victor Von Doom, is a fictional supervillain created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, making his first appearance in Fantastic Four #5 in 1962. He is the archenemy of the Fantastic Four and has faced off against many other Marvel heroes, including the Avengers. Doom is known for his genius-level intellect, mastery of both science and magic and his tyrannical rule over the fictional nation of Latveria.

Doom is characterized by his immense ego, belief in his superiority, and desire for absolute power. He often views himself as the only one capable of saving the world, even if his methods are ruthless.
