The electricity supply of Burrabazar's Satyanarayan AC Market has been snapped. Agitated by this, the shopkeepers of the market will stage a protest on Monday from 11:30 am. According to reports, they are in talks with the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC).
However, this is not the first time such a thing has happened. Last year as well, the power supply was stopped due to non-payment of electricity bill of nearly Rs 28 lakh. The 35-year-old centrally air-conditioned north Kolkata market in Burrabazar is popular for garment retail.
