South Bengal gets new rail connectivity: Purulia-Bankura-Howrah MEMU service inaugurated today
Last night, on July 29, 2024, a joint team comprising STF Kolkata Police, STF Patna, Bihar, and Madharwa Police Station in Bihar conducted a successful raid that led to the discovery of an active mini gun manufacturing factory in Ruprahimpur Village, under Madharwa PS, Saran, Bihar. The operation resulted in the detention of four skilled workers and the factory owner, while a co-partner Anil Kumar Yadav remains at large.
Cops have arrested Akhilesh Kumar Kushwaha, the owner, and 4 workers, identified as Md. Chand @ Domu (30), Mohammad Sahil Alam (20), Md. Irfan, and Mohammad Parwaz Alam.
One 7.65 mm semiautomatic improvised firearm, 7.65 mm live cartridges, Numerous semi-finished improvised 7.65 mm pistol body parts (body, sliders, grip, barrels), One lathe machine, Two milling machines, One drilling machine, One grinding and polishing machine, One welding machine, One diesel-powered electric generator, One hand grinder and a significant amount of raw materials and tools used for firearm production were recovered from the factory.
A specific case will be registered at Madharwa Police Station regarding the illegal gun manufacturing activities uncovered during the raid. The authorities have stated that they will continue to investigate the extent of the operation and any potential connections to larger criminal networks.
