2 arrested as Gujarat family held hostage in Bengal over ₹15 lakh ransom for fake passports
A house collapse near the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi led to one death and the rescue of eight people. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning in the Khoya Gali Chowk area.
Nine people, including a woman police constable, were initially trapped under the debris. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) successfully rescued the constable and 7 others.
The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital, where the constable is reported to be stable.
Kaushal Raj Sharma, Commissioner of Varanasi Division, said that two houses had collapsed, and there were a total of 11 to 12 people.
