Kolkata bus owners seek relaxation of rules for 15-year-old buses, file petition in High Court
In a tragic incident, a 13-year-old boy lost his life after being electrocuted at a cricket ground in the Ranhola area of outer Delhi. The Delhi Police reported that they received a PCR call, followed by information from Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital, confirming the fatal electrocution.
The incident occurred at the cricket ground in Kotla Vihar Phase 2 when the boy attempted to retrieve a cricket ball. He accidentally came into contact with an iron pole that was carrying an electric wire. The boy was immediately rushed to DDU Hospital by a PCR van, but unfortunately, he was declared dead upon arrival.
The Delhi Police have registered an FIR under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances that led to this tragic event.
This incident coincides with the heavy to moderate rainfall that has lashed parts of Delhi-NCR for the second consecutive day, leading to waterlogging and massive traffic jams across several parts of the city. Areas in East Delhi, South East Delhi, and Central Delhi have been particularly affected by the waterlogging.
