West Bengal Governor Dr. CV Ananda Bose has instructed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to regularly communicate all state cabinet decisions to Raj Bhavan, as required under Article 167(c) of the Constitution. This article mandates that the Chief Minister furnish details of all decisions made by the council of ministers related to state administration and legislative proposals.
A statement from the Governor’s office emphasized that it is also the Chief Minister’s duty to provide updates on matters considered by the cabinet, especially where decisions by individual ministers were not deliberated by the council.
The Governor also highlighted public concerns regarding state administration and law enforcement agencies, citing examples such as delays in filing FIRs, mishandling of a crime scene, and alleged cover-ups by the Kolkata Police.
