In the ongoing investigation into the rape and murder of junior doctor Abhaya at RG Kar Medical College, West Bengal, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has uncovered a shocking twist. Investigators are now focusing on the seminar hall where Abhaya's body was discovered and the unexplained actions of certain doctors present at the scene.
A key focus is why Abhaya’s mobile phone, found at the site, was taken to the office of then-principal Sandip Ghosh, and why crucial data from the device was deleted.
According to CBI sources, several doctors were present when Abhaya’s body was found, and it's been confirmed that her personal belongings, including her mobile phone, were tampered with. Investigators revealed that a doctor took her phone to Ghosh's office, raising suspicions about his involvement.
Further investigation into the phone revealed that some files from Abhaya’s mobile were copied to Sandip Ghosh's personal computer and transferred to an unknown number. Disturbingly, several videos and critical files had been deleted from her phone.
The CBI claims this was done on Ghosh’s orders, further complicating the investigation. Investigators are now questioning the motive behind tampering with the phone’s data and whether the deleted content holds key evidence that could shift the direction of the case.
