UNESCO praises Mamata Banerjee’s Kanyashree and Rupashree for empowering women

UNESCO has commended the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government for its socio-economic development initiatives, particularly through the Kanyashree and Rupashree schemes. These programs, designed to empower women by providing financial aid and support, have garnered international recognition. Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya expressed pride in the Chief Minister's leadership, emphasizing that Mamata Banerjee is the only leader who truly understands how to offer women the dignity they deserve.

Chandrima Bhattacharya highlighted how Bengal's progress in women's welfare has earned respect from UNESCO. She noted that both Kanyashree and Rupashree, which aid young women and brides, are direct gifts from Mamata Banerjee, reflecting her commitment to women's rights and financial independence. Bhattacharya praised Banerjee for elevating the status of women in society.

According to the minister, Mamata Banerjee’s policies have not only transformed lives but also placed Bengal on a global stage for its focus on women's empowerment. She saluted the Chief Minister for her visionary leadership, stressing that Bengal continues to receive international respect due to Banerjee’s dedication to ensuring dignity for women.
